How to Perform the Go-Go Knots Trick

The Trick
1.
Step 1

Tie four loose overhand knots in a piece of rope, working from left to right.

Step 2

Be consistent about the knots; they should all be identical.
3.
Step 3

Pick up the rope and tug on the ends while saying, “Go!”
4.
Step 4

Notice that the knots have disappeared.
How It’s Done

Step 1

Leave the loops large enough to put the four fingers of your left hand through them.

Step 2

Begin with the knot on the left end and put a knot on each of your fingers. Be careful to keep the knots facing the same direction.

Step 3

Tuck the right end of the rope between your left fingers.
8.
Step 4

Take the left end of the rope with your right hand (closest to the thumb) and pull the knots off your hand while saying, “Go!”
9.
Step 5

Notice that the knots come undone.
