Secret mission -entry in jackheath.com.au fanfiction competition

The night engulfed the dark figure as they raged down a quiet suburban street, deep in the distance the sound of sirens was eligible, to the average human that is.
Nai smiled at the thought, average, the one word she has never been categorized as, the one thing she yearns to be.

She silently slipped through a backyard, undetected by the occupants, she looked through the window of the happy family scenario, the secure environment that some may only dream.

She tapped the window before ducking out of sight.
She breathed in deeply as the window opened, flat against the wall underneath the window, a ledge of pot plants creating the perfect protection against wandering eyes.Slowly and reluctantly, the window closed as they gave up.

Nai breathed out savoring the peaceful moment; she crawled around the side of the house, her hands picking up stray rocks from the dirt.
She stopped and rummaged through her bag, finally coming upon a small compact case.
She opened it with care, as though it could blow any moment.
Glancing around quickly, she began to remove the contents.

A tube shone bright in the moonlight as she moved it towards her mouth, rubbing gently, she popped her lips and looked into her mirror.
Smiling she stood up and faced the window, a boy smiled back.

He mouthed the word “Grounded” to her; she frowned, failing to understand the concept.
Seeing her confusion, the boy picked up a piece of paper and wrote

I’m not allowed out.
Sorry.

Nai frowned again, this time in sadness, she placed her hand against the cold glass, the boy met hers with his own hand.
She smiled looking into his deep brown eyes, he lent forward, as did she.
She pressed her lips against the glass and kissed it, he kissed back.
Nai pulled back and turned away, she smiled before leaving into the darkness.

She slowly edged onto the street.

“So! Who’s the guy?”
Nai turned around, her hands ready to fight.
She fell back, as she saw a recognizable face in the dim street light.
“Kyntak! Ready to face your defeat?” she snapped confidently.
He casually walked a circle around her, surveying her stance.
“Nope, just checking out what my kid sisters up to.” he said casually.
“You’re spying on me?”
“No, I just happened to be in the neighbour hood” he replied with a cheeky grin.
Nai growled in disgust “Where’s that dimwit brother of yours? Seven of spades, is it?”
Kyntak kept smiling “Dunce actually!”

“That not too nice coming from my boss, is it?” a voice jumped from a nearby tree onto the road.
“Three’s a crowd, so I better get going” Nai said, turning to walk away.

“Does daddy know of your midnight boyfriend, Nai?” Kyntak said slyly.
Nai turned around “He doesn’t need to know, its no concern of his” she snarled angrily.

“Well, I would think otherwise, wouldn’t you Six?”
Six walked to the other side of Nai, cornering her, he shrugged with his hands deep within his coat pockets.
“How did you find me?” Nai whispered angrily
“Easily. Why are you seeing this boy?” Kyntak asked.
Nai began to shake as her emotions took over “Because,” She screamed, “It’s the only thing that makes me feel like an average girl!” She held back her tears, trying to keep a steady voice.
Kyntak nodded, “I don’t think that’s in the job description. Hey, if you came home you’d be normal, well, compared to Six anyway”
Six glared at Kyntak.
“I can’t,” She said, regaining composure.
“yes you can!” Yelled Kyntak.
“You don’t understand,” she yelled.
Kyntak stared at her “Well, if you think tha……”
“Stop it” Six said interrupting Kyntak.
“What?” They both responded in shock.
“Let’s go Kyntak, not today.” He said as he began to walk away.

Kyntak looked around confused, turning towards Six “What the?” he said, he usual smile a distant memory on his face.
“Not today” He repeated.
Kyntak turned in shock.
Nai was gone, deep into the night.

Kyntak ran towards Six with a questioning look on his face.
“She’s breaking; she will come back soon, on her own will” he said, “All we have to do is wait.”

Phew!

Wow…. i hate Joseph Conrad, Charels Dickens and Shakespeare…. Stupid crackpots think they can write…
Well… they can. but not for 15 year olds.

I wish English was the deconstrustion of a relevent text, like one on recent problems through out the teenage community, like dieases or bulimia and annorexia…. something we could ground with, learn something relivent and have a caring thought for…….
The school curriculam had NFI (No Fucking Idea) of what we need and want, not just have to…

besides the fact that English is a drag, i have the rest of life to worry about. Assignments galore through out the subjects and tests have also begun…. then theres work which takes up more of my time and gives me mass headaches….. i dont really want to mention the extra-curricular shit i have to put up with… i always seem to be doing something and my insomnia crap is growing to the fact that i only get 1 or 2 hours sleep each night. I thought i could handle life, but its too hard..
And all i end up doing is helping ungrateful people who dont deserve what they have.

The nights get longer and i just cant live like this anymore, i know ppl have it tougher and they can probably handle it better then i can, maybe i should runaway for a few days and just stop and breathe.

This would be so much easier with super powers.

Hello world, welcome to my life

Posted by laurenzo in Uncategorized

Hey.

This is my first blog and i made this so i have a place to express myself and hopefully one day change alot of things.
Here we go at the beginning!

My name is Lauren, i’m 15 from Sydney Australia and im in year 10. I work part time at Mcdonalds and ‘i’m loving it’ (sorry couldn’t resist). Its way more fun then it looks, everyone acts like 12 year olds - That includes the managers-. I don’t think it could be a better job! Though i only get 7 bucks 50 per hours… what a rip.

My life is full of surprises, not big, just random and fun,i guess you would call me a typical teenager, though i wanna be so much more.
I’m pretty wierd compared to everyone else in my year but THAT JUST MAKES LIFE FUN. If i was like everyone else there’d be nothing to talk about…

Thats my introduction to the life of Lauren

xoxoxo

thanks for reading if you made it this far..!!
