Good Content help to Increase the Page Rank of Site

September 24th, 2007 by thetopseo

Site ranking as we all know, matters a lot for the success of every website and to be visible amongst the top ranks takes some working. Flow of traffic on the website is what takes it higher and higher. One of the key boosters for a websites top ranking is content. I would rather prefer using the phrase “Good Content”.

Are you one of those who are not high enough on the ranking ladder and aspire to be there for making your presence felt on the top of the mountain then this article could go a long way to help your cause? What all you need to do is go for “Good Content”, which is of-course relevant. The article aims at making an attempt to put together all the requirements of a “Good Content”.

If you are not aware of what is “Good Content” then let me tell you that it is very difficult to give a precise definition of a “Good Content”. It’s just like trying to give a definition of “Good Taste”. Every individual would define “Good Taste” in light of his/her likings, similarly every individual would have a different view of what is a “Good Content” depending upon his personality and needs. However, for the sake of general perception of the phrase “Good Content” I tend to believe that “Good Content” is a fine amalgamation of informative, relevant, compelling and exhaustive literature which makes the reader glued to what he is reading and makes him come back again and again.

The primary objective of content writing, as we all are aware of, is to attract more and more readers i.e. increase traffic. There is a marked difference between content and “Good Content”. You can have a “good content” only by persevering with the process of Good – better – best, after all the onus of your websites popularity and high ranking lies on this most vital feature. The different prominent aspects to be taken care of while preparing a “Good Content” are discussed in the subsequent para.

The first aspect to be kept in mind is never write with the perception that content is something to written just to cover the white spaces on the webpage, for then you can never prepare a “Good Content”. Before writing any content it is imperative that you do a thorough search on the topic because most subjects are already on the web and you have to be different to others to attract readers. You must always be unique and try to stick to the subjects which project your sites topic.

Your objective of writing “Good Content” is to attract more and more searchers so it becomes all the more important that you give enough thought to your Keywords and / or Key phrases. Do you know key phrases always hold an advantage over Keywords? It is the density of your Keyword/Key phrase that is the biggest determinant of your success. A perfect word can make you topple the leader. In a “Good Content” the chosen Keyword should be placed at as many places as possible but with wisdom because stuffing of Keywords will irritate the reader and too little won’t catch the eye of the search engine.

Some of the simple principles of  “Good Content”  include the use of friendly and informal language which is free from jargons. There is no use to showcase the vocabulary because if the readers find your stuff too technical they will never come back again. The content should be of the optimal length; too big contents are not preferred as it becomes tiresome for the reader. Adding of humor in content is advocated by many to attract readers but I believe that this works only to some extent and in some general articles so be judicious in adding humor to Content.

Some basic tips for a  “Good content” cover a lot of other areas including using of short easy sentences, sticking to one idea per paragraph, giving crystal clear headings and subheadings, use conversational style of writing, emphasize on facts, make sure that you have done a spell check and finally go for regular revisions of the content.
